This is an unpleasant but relatively safe condition. The problem will go away if you place the soaked feet in a warm and dry environment.
What to do if your feet do get wet
Whilst wet shoes alone will not lead to a cold, it is important to warm and dry your feet as soon as possible. Not only will this stop your body cooling and speed up blood flow, but it can also prevent the development of a fungal infection.
Remove soaked boots and socks.
Warm your feet: you can rub them with a dry towel or dip them in warm water. It is important that the temperature is not higher than 43 degrees, as its sudden change can cause damage to the skin.
Once circulation is restored, wipe your feet thoroughly. You can put on woollen socks, as this material perfectly retains heat. But other socks are also suitable, the main thing is that it should be warm and dry.
